She was greatly exposed to German, Italian, Turkish and of course, French.
At an early age, she segued effortlessly into university level coursework. Along with language training and as a necessity of living overseas, she developed a real appreciation and respect for other cultures. Joyce has a desire to build “bridges, not walls”, a recurring theme in her classroom. Joyce has also served as chaperone to students on several trips to France. While in France, Joyce helped her students understand not only the language, but the culture as well.
In addition to teaching French, Joyce enjoys dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family and granddaughters most of all. She greatly enjoys teaching students French and it’s county’s dynamic culture. Her teaching style includes focusing on each student’s strengths and weaknesses. As a result of getting to know each student individual, the student is able to grow and flourish.
